We hatched 6 purebred indian runner ducks from holdereads show stock in our incubator. We will be selling babies out of our ducks when they start to lay. The gray runners (mallard looking) will be going to my sisters. We ended up with two males and 4 females. The mallard pair male and female are the ones my sister bought from us. When our ducks start laying we will be selling hatching eggs! These are fertilized eggs, that you can incubate at home and 28 days later ducklings start to emerge. This is a great alternative to buying the actuall ducks, because cost is less! They can be easily shipped and What great pride and joy of hatching your own ducklings!
Our 1 day old ducklings

Runners are the comedians of the duck world. They are such comics, everytime you fill up the pool with fresh water they go crazy in it with great pleasure. Better where a wet suit cause they manage to get most of the water on you sitting so peacefully outside the pen. Oh, and once you get them started on a particular treat they just can't get enough. Ours are cucumber junkies, we started giving them the cucumbers out of our garden that got to big and bitter on the vine and now, we never seem to have any for ourselves. All the cucumbers regardless if they are perfect for eating or not go staight to the ducks! Yes they get spoil here.
